The city of Okemos is just a few miles from the campus of Michigan State University and only fifteen minutes from the Capital City of Lansing. A part of the Holiday Inn hotel chain, the Holiday Inn Express and Suites Okemos is easily accessible off of highway I-96. It is near Okemos and Jolly Roads, a very busy retail area with various shopping and eateries. Some restaurants within walking distance of the hotel are Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, Big John's Steak and Onion, and the Stillwater Bar and Grill.
Hotel Rooms at the Holiday Inn and Suites, Okemos
Most features of this hotel are similar to other hotels in this chain; however, the Okemos facility is quite old. Although it has been nicely renovated, there are still signs of age throughout the building such as worn doors, squeaky pipes/plumbing and popcorn ceilings.
Each hotel room is decorated in neutral tones of beiges, browns, plums and greens. Guests have the option of a king or two double beds. Beds are dressed in extremely comfortable linen consisting of several soft sheets (with a blanket in between), multiple pillows (both soft and firm), and a colorful throw at the foot of the bed. Additionally, each room comes standard with a separate shower and oversized jacuzzi tub. Because the jacuzzi tub is in the sleeping area, it does not flow with the layout of the room. In fact, it appears as though the tubs were there prior to the renovation. One can draw this conclusion because the tub is obviously older (compared to other bathroom fixtures), and the tile does not match that of the bathroom.
The hotel also offers a number of suites for extended stays. In addition to the standard amenities, these rooms offer refrigerators, microwaves, a dishwasher, pots, pans, dishes and other utensils.

This hotel (given a 2 1/2 star rating) offers a number of amenities that are more common in a 3 or 4 star hotel. Some of these comforts include:
