The Radisson Inn Riverfront offers great views of the Grand River. It provides easy access to I-131 with connections to northern Michigan and several nearby cities.

Conveniently located off of I-131, the Radisson Inn Grand Rapids is a popular choice for many travelers to West Michigan. The hotel is just a few blocks from Alpine Street (home of numerous restaurants and shopping centers) and is within close proximity of both downtown and the DeltaPlex Event Center (just a couple of minutes away).

The Radisson Grand Rapids was clearly at one time a hotel with lots of grandeur. Although there are still glimpses of its former beauty throughout the building, there are clear signs of a need for major updates.

The Lobby/Reception Area of the Radisson Grand Rapids

The lobby offers the first impression of the facility, and, it is possibly the most indicative of the hotel's past splendor. It is exquisitely decorated with marble floors, a fireplace, antique grandfather clock and tray ceilings.

Amenities at the Radisson Riverfront

Travelers lodging at the hotel can enjoy a number of amenities. Some of these include an indoor pool, spa, fitness center, laundry services/equipment, business center and on-site bar and restaurant. Guests lodging at the hotel also receive a complimentary cold breakfast in the hotel's restaurant, and can update to their hot buffet for a very small fee.

Rooms at the Radisson Grand Rapids

Rooms at this facility are quite small, but adequate for a short stay. Many updates have been made in the rooms including newer carpet, furniture and partially remodeled bathrooms. Nonetheless, there remain some maintenance issues such as peeling wallpaper and dirty walls.

One great feature of the hotel however is that each room offers a Sleep Number bed. Suites are also available with a sofa bed, microwave and refrigerator.

The Landings Lounge and Bar on Grand River

Guests dining at the restaurant can enjoy great views of the Grand River. The restaurant serves a fantastic breakfast buffet with a variety of options such as cereal, juice, yogurt, fresh fruit, waffles, French toast, eggs, meat and freshly made omelettes. In addition to a grand breakfast, the restaurant also offers lunch and dinner, as well as special events such as holiday meals and themed buffets. There is also an extremely busy bar connected to the restaurant.

As with many other areas of this facility, the restaurant is in dire need of a fresh look. There are also a few maintenance concerns. For example, although the restaurant offers breathtaking views, the windows and outlining areas are in need of a thorough cleaning.

Another concern is that although the hotel has one elevator, many guests opt to use the stairs. One reason is that the elevator is very small, and, with only one elevator in the entire hotel, it is oftentimes quicker to take the stairs.

Overall, the hotel offers comfortable lodging in a very good location. With some changes, this facility has the potential of being a luxurious and award winning hotel.
