The Residence Inn is one of the newer hotels in the Holland area.

Located a short distance from both Grand Rapids and Lansing, Holland is a popular vacation spot in Western Michigan. It is the host of the annual Tulip Time Festival held in May, and home to Dutch Village (a small theme park celebrating Dutch history and culture). Visitors to Holland can also enjoy shopping at various outlet stores, or relaxing on one of Holland's many sandy beaches.

The Location of the Residence Inn, Holland, Michigan

Guests to the area typically lodge off of US Route 31 around Dutch Village, Holland Town Center and the Westshore Mall. Nonetheless, a few hotel chains have built properties closer to the Holland Airport and industrial parks. One such hotel is that of the five year old Residence Inn. Built directly across the street from the new headquarters of Haworth, Inc., the hotel is in a somewhat secluded area. Although secluded, Meijer Shopping Center, Bob Evans and other eateries are just a short drive away.

Hotel Rooms at the Residence Inn, Holland, Michigan

The rooms at the Holland inn are standard for that of a Residence Inn. Each room offers -

  • A separate eating and sitting area with a pull out sofa.
  • Fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans and dinner and silverware.
  • Cable television that can be watched from the bed or sitting area.

The bedding and linens at the facility are not very plush or luxurious, and although the hotel is not very old, the bathrooms, carpet and walls are already showing signs of wear and tear. Additionally, the Residence Inn-Holland boasts of being a smoke-free facility; nonetheless, when it first opened, smoking was allowed in designated rooms. Unfortunately the smell of smoke still lingers in some rooms and hallways.

  • Outdoor picnic area.

On weeknights guests can enjoy a social reception in the lobby with a light dinner such as pizza, hot wings, grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, pasta and soup/salad bar.
