The Residence Inn is one of the newer hotels in the Holland area.
Located a short distance from both Grand Rapids and Lansing, Holland is a popular vacation spot in Western Michigan. It is the host of the annual Tulip Time Festival held in May, and home to Dutch Village (a small theme park celebrating Dutch history and culture). Visitors to Holland can also enjoy shopping at various outlet stores, or relaxing on one of Holland's many sandy beaches. Nonetheless, a few hotel chains have built properties closer to the Holland Airport and industrial parks. One such hotel is that of the five year old Residence Inn. Built directly across the street from the new headquarters of Haworth, Inc., the hotel is in a somewhat secluded area. Although secluded, Meijer Shopping Center, Bob Evans and other eateries are just a short drive away. The bedding and linens at the facility are not very plush or luxurious, and although the hotel is not very old, the bathrooms, carpet and walls are already showing signs of wear and tear. Additionally, the Residence Inn-Holland boasts of being a smoke-free facility; nonetheless, when it first opened, smoking was allowed in designated rooms. Unfortunately the smell of smoke still lingers in some rooms and hallways. The Residence Inn-Holland provides an exceptional buffet breakfast each morning. Options include eggs with toppings such as grated cheese, salsa, olives and hot peppers, french toast, homemade waffles, sausage/bacon, fresh fruit and pastries, hot cereal, yogurt and more. On weeknights guests can enjoy a social reception in the lobby with a light dinner such as pizza, hot wings, grilled hotdogs and hamburgers, pasta and soup/salad bar.
